Scripture Reading:
Proverbs 1
Genesis 1:1
Isaiah 43:19
A new year carries with it a sense of wonder.
Fresh hopes rise, old chapters close, and possibilities we haven’t yet imagined begin to take shape. It’s no surprise that people mark this day so intentionally — making plans, setting resolutions, and looking ahead with expectation. There’s something deeply stirring about a new beginning.
But Scripture reminds us that the most meaningful beginnings don’t come from our efforts alone.
From the very first verse of the Bible — “In the beginning, God…” — we see that all true beginnings start with Him. The most fruitful paths are not simply those that include God somewhere along the way, but those that are initiated and guided by Him from the start.
A Simple Reflection
What would change if I invited God to guide each day of this year, rather than trying to carry the weight of it myself?
Closing Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of a new year and the hope it brings. I trust You with what lies ahead. Lead me in Your wisdom, and help me begin each day with reverence and faith. Amen.
