January 18 — Run to Him

Scripture Reading:
Proverbs 18
Psalm 9:10
Psalm 23:4

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.” — Proverbs 18:10

You are not alone.

Every person experiences heartache, disappointment, and seasons of doubt. There are moments when we feel vulnerable, unsettled, and unsure of where to turn next. In those times, painful questions can surface—Has God forsaken me? Have I disappointed Him? Why would He allow this?

But if you find yourself asking these questions, take comfort in this truth: your heart is still turned toward the Father. And that pleases Him. Scripture reminds us that those who know His name will trust in Him, because the Lord never abandons those who seek Him (Psalm 9:10).

When you run to God—when you seek Him for answers and cling to His character—you will always find a place of safety and acceptance. King David understood this deeply. Even while walking through the darkest valleys of life, he could confidently say, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me” (Psalm 23:4).

David learned that the Lord’s protective presence was not temporary or conditional. It was constant. And the same is true for you. No matter how helpless or uncertain your circumstances may appear, God will not leave you. Not because of who you are or what you have done, but because of who He is.

Every believer encounters moments of weakness and uncertainty. Yet in those moments, the Lord remains faithful to guide you. He will make clear whether you need to repent, take a step of faith, or simply wait on His perfect timing. Be patient and trust Him, because He will not fail to lead you in the way you should go.

Just as God was with David—and with so many before you—your loving Heavenly Father is with you now. Run to Him. He is your strong tower, your refuge, and your place of peace.

Closing Prayer

Father, thank You for being my strong tower—my unshakable place of safety and acceptance. Help me run to You in every season and trust You fully in all things. Amen.
